Culpepper Nursing Scholarship

Purpose

A.L. Culpepper, M.D., had a high regard for the nursing profession and it was his desire to help those who wanted to enter the profession or upgrade their skills. The scholarship was established by Mrs. Culpepper in memory of her husband to provide opportunities for nursing students with financial need attending Eastern Florida State College.

Criteria

  • Plan of Study Requirement: Brevard county students enrolled in the Eastern Florida State College Nursing Programs 
    • Applicants must include a letter of acceptance into the EFSC Nursing Programs
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0
  • Applicant must indicate Brevard County as the primary residence.
  • Applicant should have a demonstrated financial need. Applications must be completed by the student only.
  • Applicant must submit all required application documents by the deadline.

Use of Funds

  • Scholarship awards may be used towards any need listed under the school’s total cost of attendance. The student is responsible for all other charges
  • Recipients have two options for how to use the total amount of the scholarship. It may be used for the cost of attendance of one semester or divided across two semesters
    • Please be aware, if the recipient chooses to divide the scholarship amount over two semesters, they must maintain a 3.0 GPA. If GPA dips under 3.0 during the first semester that funds are used, the recipient will not be eligible to use the remainder of the award for their second semester
