Community Foundation for Brevard proudly announces the recipients of the 2025 Nancy Baur Dillen Art Teacher Scholarship, marking the program’s 10th anniversary. Since its inception in 2016, the program has awarded 52 scholarships to 39 Brevard Public Schools art educators, providing them with transformative professional development experiences to inspire both themselves and their students.

The scholarship funds tuition and related expenses for a weeklong immersive workshop of each teacher’s choice at the nationally acclaimed Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. By engaging with expert instructors and fellow artists, educators refine their craft, explore new techniques, and gain fresh perspectives that they can integrate into their teaching.

The scholarship was founded by artist and retired Eastern Florida State College professor of art, Nancy Baur Dillen, and her late husband Rick, in partnership with the Community Foundation for Brevard. The Dillens’ vision has always been to equip art teachers with meaningful learning opportunities that not only enhance their own creative growth but also enrich the artistic experiences of the students they mentor.

“Reaching the 10-year milestone of this scholarship is incredibly meaningful,” said Nancy Baur Dillen. “Over the years, we’ve witnessed firsthand how these experiences have rejuvenated our teachers, transformed their classrooms, and ultimately shaped the creative futures of thousands of students. The impact of this program extends far beyond individual educators—it strengthens the entire artistic fabric of our community.”

The Community Foundation for Brevard is honored to recognize the 2025 Nancy Baur Dillen Art Teacher Scholarship recipients for their dedication to arts education and their commitment to inspiring the next generation of artists.
