Community Foundation for Brevard announces the 2025 recipients of its annual college scholarship program. This year, the Foundation awards $89,600 to 11 outstanding students from across Brevard County who are pursuing higher education.
“We congratulate our 2025 college scholarship recipients as they embark on their own exciting journeys toward making a meaningful impact in the world,” remarked Donna Sewell, Director of Philanthropy at the Community Foundation for Brevard.
Each scholarship is made possible through the enduring generosity of donors—many of whom entrusted their legacies to the Community Foundation to ensure continued educational opportunity for local students. Their support opens doors for individual success while also cultivating a skilled, resilient, and engaged community.
Recipients are selected through a comprehensive application and review process that considers academic achievement, financial need, community involvement, and developing aspirations. Scholarship awards are granted through the following funds:
- Norma S. Annabal Scholarship
- Geraldine L. Cabic Charitable Scholarship
- Culpepper Nursing Scholarship
- Pablo Enriquez Memorial Scholarship
- Ella Josephine Goodman Horn Scholarship
- Missy and Tony Shannon Memorial Scholarship
- Community Scholarship
“This program reflects the power and impact of local philanthropy,” began Theresa Grimison, President & CEO at the Community Foundation for Brevard. “By investing in these students, we are affirming our belief in their potential—and in the brighter future they will help create.”
The impact is immediately felt by the students.
Recipient Mariam Hassan shared, “Knowing that people believe in me enough to invest in my education means more than I can say. Your generosity is helping me focus on my studies instead of worrying about how I’ll cover expenses. Your kindness and support are genuinely making a difference in my life.”
